I am a 61 year old grandmother and felt very safe there. I would recommend it to anyone that likes primitive camping. Plus it is very close to everything you want to see on the Outer Banks. We will probably go back next year.

Amazing scenery, free fishing, free canoe use, and excellent hospitality! We stayed here in December, which is beautiful, and, although it got cold, we were extra prepared due to the kindness of the owner. She went out of her way to ensure our comfort. Highly recommended!

We stayed there in May of 2015. It was wonderful. Very quiet and peaceful. Fell asleep to the sound of bull frogs and woke up to the sound of ducks. We loved it. Be mindful there is no water or electricity, but if you like a rustic, of the beaten path, being one with nature kind of an experience, then this is the place for you.

Just made a reservation here, can't wait!! The hostess was so friendly on the phone!! Thank you so much for taking our reservation on such short notice!!

Many thanks for our pleasant stay, brief but hope to return soon. She very kindly served us a cup of coffee in the morning and gave me a teddy that I liked, I have already repaired it and here is the photo that I promised, it is very well in her new house. Thank you!!

June,2014. I found this place on line to camp at while my granddaughter was in camp in Columbia. I don't like crowds am a bit of a recluse. This place was perfect. I had two 14year old g-sons with me. It was the last part of June. Everything was so beautiful. Carolyn is a super host. I think my boys enjoyed spending time with her more than they did me. She loaned them a pole and they caught a fish right away. Not some little bitty fish. A nice sized one. The boys played in the boats and we brought floats. They swam in the clear lake and had a ball. It rained some, but we came prepared for that. It is surrounded by water, so be sure to bring bug repellant. All in all it was a super place. Carolyn even let me take a much needed shower. We were there for several days. We had it all to ourselves till the next to the last evening. Those folks went way on the other side so it was still like we had it to ourselves.
